Severely wounded in Iraq in 2007, Retired Navy SEAL Jason Redman founded Wounded Wear out of frustration, from lack of awareness of American service members' war sacrifices and a strong desire to have fashionable patriotic clothing that would honor and support them. Caught in an Al Qaeda machine gun ambush, Jason was hit at least eight times, between his body and body armor, including a round that tore through his face.
Despite the attention he attracted in the land of “stares and gawks” Jason vowed to Overcome, raise awareness and support his fellow wounded warriors and service members. Jason took this Overcome mindset and put it to work when he wrote out the now famous bright orange sign on his hospital door that got national attention and earned him an invitation to the White House, telling people not to come into his room with pity.
Wounded Wear was born out of his sacrifice and embodies that same sacrifice that millions of American service men and women have endured to protect and preserve freedom. 100% of all proceeds from Wounded Wear clothing sales goes back to support the Combat Wounded Coalition, inspiring wounded warriors to Overcome through Pride, Power, Purpose and Peace.
